Dreams - A Suite for Trumpet and Piano
Dreams is a three movement (and I use the term lightly) suite for trumpet and piano. I wrote this in 1994 at a Waffle House in the middle of the night. It won the State (Georgia) MTNA composition competition in 1995. I have also tried this out as a clarinet/piano duo as well as a violin/piano duo. I still like it best for trumpet and piano but it works for the different instrumentation as well. This was my first attempt at live recording - you can tell by my rather amateur use of compression. I also started a personal tradition with this recording of being the composer/performer(piano in this case)/engineer - still not sure if this is the best way to go. Please take a listen - I think the suite makes the most impact if listened to as a whole but I have each movement down separately for ease of access.
